  This review is long overdue for work we had done in October. We needed a contractor to turn a large bedroom into 2 smaller bedrooms for our kids. We needed… read more framing, sheetrock, electrical, trim and closets built. Joe was way more responsive than all other contractors and was very reasonable with costs. The price was exactly what he quoted us. (Another contractor was supposed to start before we found Joe and completely ghosted us around the start date.)

Lou was the main guy who was here several days and he was great. We felt totally comfortable with him in our home. Our 4 year old son kept asking where Lou was after the project was completed. Lou worked around us when it came to hours that worked best for our family. Our kids love their bedrooms. And our 4 year old son finally sleeps in his own bed. We will be calling Joe when we are ready to remodel our kitchen and bathrooms.

Finally after further research we found Joe (through Yelp!) and decided to give him a call. When he came out to check out our project, we knew immediately he was honest, knowledgeable, and trustworthy. He assessed our project, explained his plan in great detail, and gave us a reasonable quote that met our expectations. This has been so hard to find!

Since then he has been communicative, prompt, and thorough. He communicated his progress daily and involved us in decisions every step of the way. When we mentioned we had family coming to town that we were hoping to show the roofdeck, he and his team pushed to get the project done in time. And it is a BEAUTY!   We needed to put up a temporary wall in our apartment to make one bedroom into two. Temporary means, it doesn’t look like crap, but we can tear it… read more down when we move and it won’t damage the landlord’s place. Joe was the first contractor to call me back, and said he’d already had experience with such walls. After I sent him a few pictures of the room, he sent back a quote which was quite competitive. Because he said he could “do it next week!”, we hired him for the job.

In the days leading up to construction, Joe contacted me a few times to discuss ideas to make the wall serve our purposes better. When he showed up with his two workers, they had settled on the best plan, using steel beams instead of wooden studs, since it would make it easier to remove the wall. I appreciate all the thoughtful consideration for what must be a really small job for this team.

Joe is personally very professional, but also very down to earth and clear-headed. As soon as he walked in the door, I felt I could trust him with the job. His two helpers were also very kind, professional, and competent. One of them even made friends with our little boy, who loves construction work! Everyone was very courteous, and took pains to keep the mess down while doing a wonderful job.

After a day and a half of work, the wall is done and looks great. They made sure to explain how the wall is constructed, and how best to remove it when the time comes. It was a real pleasure having these guys in the apartment, and we absolutely look forward to working with Joe and his crew in the future.
